ARVIND&LISA

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"  (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV). 

Lisa's parents had left Portland, Oregon to become missionaries in Jamaica, and they introduced her to Arvind when she came for a Christmas visit. He knew he had met his wife, but when he shared his interest, Lisa said no. Two years later she returned to the island and Arvind continued pursuing her, and that time she told him that she believed they would never be together. Even so, he could not stop thinking about her. He came to the point where he asked God to give him an unquestionable green light about whether he should try again. He reminded God about his request everyday, and within two weeks he got a call from Lisa's dad, who told him he was the kind of man he wanted to see marry his daughter. Needless to say, Arvind was flipping out! Arvind immediately emailed Lisa and once again shared his heart. 

At the same time, Lisa was asking God to show her what could be holding her back from getting married. She realized she needed to think more about the spiritual character of a man. She asked herself, "Who is the person that I respect the most spiritually?" The answer was Arvind. Shortly thereafter she received Arvind's email and replied that yes, they should give it another chance. On her next visit to Jamaica, her heart turned towards him and they fell in love. 4 years and 3 months passed between the day they met and the day they married. God truly wrote them a unique love story, and they believe that their relationship is a testament to God's grace, kindness, and faithfulness.

Prior to their marriage, Arvind and Lisa had their own musical journeys. Arvind taught himself to play the guitar as a teen and began writing songs. He served as worship Leader at his church as well as at Teen Challenge Jamaica for several years, participated in one of Jamaica's annual gospel music competitions, and ministered with various groups. Lisa developed a love of tight harmonies singing with her mom, and she went on to perform at Carnegie Hall with a nationally acclaimed a cappella group and in many musical theater productions. She also led worship and ministered with praise teams and gospel choirs. Together, Arvind and Lisa love to lead worship, write music, and perform at various events. Their songs span a variety of genres including inspirational, pop, rock, reggae, and worship. Their desire is for people to experience the father heart of God through intimate worship which brings healing to the spirit, soul, and body.

"Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:25-26 NIV).
